The Taste of Chicago festival will result in street closures near Grant Park this weekend.

The festival is open from 10 and 9 p.m. today and Sunday, but street closures will remain in effect until 4 p.m. on Monday.

The closures include: Columbus Drive, between Monroe Street and Balbo Avenue and from Balbo to Roosevelt Road; Jackson Drive, between Michigan Avenue and Lake Shore Drive; and Congress Parkway from Columbus to the Congress Parkway semi-circle. Balbo Avenue will remain open to traffic.

Motorists and pedestrians should be prepared to take alternate routes to avoid the Grant Park area. There are also parking restrictions in effect as indicated by local street signs.

The city of Chicago recommends the use of public transportation for Taste of Chicago visitors and non-festival related travel.
