The Oscar Mayer Magnet School Council met July 11 to elect new members.

Here are the meeting's minutes, as provided by the council:

MINUTES

July 11, 2016

The July 11, 2016 regular meeting of the Oscar Mayer Local School Council was called 

to order by the chairperson, Mr. Mark Sassower, at 6:00 p.m. in the library.  A quorum 

was present.

Members in attendance were: Chris Ball, Mark Sassower, Blair Schoell, Cathy Styx 

Betty Scalia,  Kirsten Villers, Amy Zemnick and Katie Konieczny. (Principal)

Candace  Cook­Bey,  Peter  Talmers,  Emily  Herrick  and  Nolan  Hanson  were  not  in 

attendance.  

The agenda for the meeting was approved 8–0.  Principal Konieczny proposed to approve 

the motion.  Chris Ball seconded the motion. 

Minutes  for  the  June  meeting  were  approved  8­0.  Principal  Koniezcny  proposed  to 

approve the motion.  Kirsten Villers seconded the motion. 

Memorable Mayer Moments

Camp Galielo had it’s first day today and it was a success.  

Principal Konieczny was doing the Seton Montessori Administrator certification.  

Nominations and Selection

Mark Sassower was nominated for chairperson and was elected 8­0.  

Amy Zemnick was nominated for secretary and elected 8­0.  

Amy Zemnick was nominated for Vice Chairperson and elected 8­0.  

Meeting dates were approved 8­0.  

By­laws were adopted 8­0.

PPLC/CIWP:

Budget Committee: A letter will go out early next week that will ask for a last push 

for donations.  There will be open meetings throughout the summer when more 

info is available.  We are unable to fundraise our way out of this situation but we 

will do our best to try to raise more funds as every dollar helps.

The meeting adjourned at 6:35 pm. Principal Konieczny proposed the motion to adjourn 

the meeting
