Investigative journalist Michael Volpe claims New York City Gov. Andrew Cuomo had to know the policies at nursing homes across the state never really had a chance of keeping elderly residents safe during the COVID crisis.

“They were warned their policies were going to create death,” Volpe, who has bylines in publications such as The Daily Caller, said during a recent appearance on Chicago’s Morning Answer in March. “These group homes are such a disaster they have a lot of trouble keeping employees. They often have missing employees from one home or another and were using floaters. Floaters go from one group home to another. You can imagine what that does to COVID. They were bringing COVID.”

Volpe believes Cuomo had to know how things were being done at least by May of 2020. He said the floater policy still continues to this day.

“People in group homes are basically stuck there and if one person brings in COVID there’s a good chance all of them will have it in a week or so,” he said. “It’s a lot stricter for people in restaurants than in these group homes.”
