Chicago CityMayor's Office issued the following announcement on May 11.
“Congratulations to the 3,800 incredible athletes and 150 great teams who came together to compete in the 50th Anniversary of Special Olympics Chicago Spring Games! Chicago is proud of all of the athletes and volunteers who knocked it out of the park again this year. These athletes are champions that personify Chicago’s winning spirit.”
