Chicago mayor candidate Rahm Emanuel returns $850 contribution from Laura Zarate

The campaign committee of Chicago mayor candidate Rahm Emanuel, Chicago for Rahm Emanuel, returned a $850 contribution from Laura Zarate on Jan. 15, according to the Illinois State Board of Elections.

Candidates sometimes refuse or return contributions because they do not want their campaign to be affiliated with the donor. Zarate has not made any other contributions to Rahm Emanuel in the past 12 months.
