Q4 2018 Recap: Parolees in Chicago convicted of property crimes
The data shows that 352 men and 22 women were among the parolees. Of the parolees sentenced for property crimes, six were veterans, and the median age was 37. The youngest parolee was a 19-year-old man sentenced in 2018, and the oldest was a 71-year-old man sentenced in 2017.
The offender who was incarcerated the longest was Dolphus Fleming. He was convicted of a property crime in 1999 when he was 36 years old. He is now 56.
Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.
