Q1 2018 Recap: Parolees near Illinois zip code 60636 convicted of homicide

There were two offenders convicted of homicide released on parole near Illinois zip code 60636 during the first quarter, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by the Chicago City Wire.

The data shows that both of the released offenders in 60636 were men. The younger parolee was a 33-year-old man sentenced in 2008. The other was a 46-year-old man sentenced in 2012.

The offender who was incarcerated the longest was Keshawn Gilmore. He was convicted of homicide in 2008 when he was 22 years old. He is now 33.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.
