2018 Parolees Recap: Who was paroled in zip code 60601?

There were five offenders released on parole during 2018 that live near Illinois zip code 60601, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by Chicago City Wire.

The data shows that four men and one woman were released in the Chicago zip code. The median age of the parolees was 33. The youngest parolee was a 19-year-old man convicted of a crime involving one or more weapons in 2013, and the oldest was a 33-year-old man convicted of a sex crime in 2009.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Mario Salgado. He was convicted of a sex crime in 2009, when he was 33 years old. He is now 43.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.
