Uptown home prices fall in the second quarter of 2019

The median sale price of a home sold in the second quarter of 2019 in Uptown, a Chicago neighborhood, fell by $82,000 while total sales increased by 42.3%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From April through June of 2019, there were 195 homes sold, with a median sale price of $218,000 - a 27.3% decrease over the $300,000 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were 137 homes sold in Uptown in the second quarter of 2018.

The median sales tax in Uptown for the most recent year with available data, 2018, was $3,633, approximately 1.7% of the median home sale price for the second quarter of 2019.
