By Press release submission | Nov 12, 2019

Illinois State House District 35 issued the following announcement on Nov. 6.

Chief Sponsor

This bill would ammend the Illinois state School Code to allow for students in special education programs who turn 22 to remain in school until the end of the school year. The current laws does not allow students to be in school after the day before their 22nd birthday, and this bill would give these students an easier transition out of the special education system.

This bill would prohibit any institution of higher education from barring student - athletes from profiting off of their(the student) own likeness. Grants student athletes the ability to seek professional representation as long as that person is licensed with the state of Illinois as an athletic agent.
