Illinois State House District 13 issued the following announcement on Feb. 26.

With the Spring Session now upon us, I wanted to share my legislative agenda for this year with you. This session I will be working on several pieces of legislation aimed at protecting vulnerable Illinois residents. Also, as budget negotiator for the House Democratic Caucus, passing a responsible budget will be one of my top priorities. Under the leadership of Gov. JB Pritzker we have made a great start in restoring Illinois’ fiscal stability, but there is much more work to do.

Below are each of the bills I have filed for this session along with a brief description.

HB 4477: Limits out-of-pocket costs, copays, and deductibles for prescription drugs.

HB 4544: Closes loopholes which allow large corporations to move their profits to offshore tax havens.

HB 4884: Allows group homes for people with disabilities to use new technology to serve their residents and secures a federal funding match for these services.

HB 4957: Permits craft brewers to experiment with a wider array of products without losing their self-distribution rights.

HB 5442: Commissions a feasibility study to find ways to make health insurance more affordable for Illinois residents, including a public option.

HB 5510: Is the Prior Authorization Reform Act. Cracks down on burdensome and confusing prior authorization practices used by insurers and PBMs to delay and deny medical care or prescriptions.

In addition to these, I filed the seventy-six bills that make up Governor Pritzker’s proposed FY2021 Budget. To help you find specific budget items you are looking for, the category breakdown is as follows:

Human Services: HB 5674 – HB 5684

K-12 Education: HB 5685 – HB 5686

General Services: HB 5687 – HB 5715

Public Safety: HB 5716 – HB 5733

Higher Education: HB 5734 – HB 5745

FY20 Supplemental: HB 5746

State Universities Civil Service System: HB 5747

Capital: HB 5748 – HB 5749

We are committed to conducting this process with openness and transparency.
