At 3:05 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 28, former De La Salle High School standout Chase Hoover helped lead his college squad, the UC Santa Barbara Gauchos, to a 7-1 NCAA Division I baseball victory over the Utah Utes.
The matchup took place at Caesar Uyesaka Stadium and marked the teams’ second meeting of the season. Their previous contest on Friday, Feb. 27, ended with the Gauchos taking a 7-2 win.
Hoover gave up one earned run in 2.2 innings of work, walking two and striking out four.
UC Santa Barbara is set to play Utah again at Caesar Uyesaka Stadium on Sunday, March 1, at 1:05 p.m.
