Entrepreneurs can untangle the mysteries of hashtags and the nuances of blogging in a series of five free sessions at City Hall via Chicago’s Department of Business Affairs and Consumer Protection’s (BACP) Small Business Center.

BACP invites small business owners to stay abreast of the latest social media strategies with these free workshops, all slated for 9:30-11 a.m. Friday morning slots and scheduled monthly through December in Room 805 in City Hall, 121 N. LaSalle St. Topics will include Instagram, blogging and social advertising.

“This social media series is designed to build off of the enormously successful one last year and provide even more helpful advice for Chicago’s businesses and entrepreneurs,” BACP Commissioner Maria Guerra Lapacek said. “Attendees will be able to walk away with information to implement immediately. This series is part of the City of Chicago’s commitment to providing businesses with the tools they need to succeed.”

Scheduled dates include Aug. 12, Sept. 16, Oct. 21, Nov. 18 and Dec. 9. Additionally, the Small Business Center presents free business workshops each Wednesday and Friday at City Hall hosted by city officials, partner groups and industry experts.
