Highest-paid teacher in City of Chicago SD 299 raked in $116,603 in the 2014-2015 school year
The top 50 highest-paid teachers in City of Chicago SD 299 each earned more than $84,000 in total compensation in 2015, according to the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE).
The amount reflects teachers' full adjusted pay - a calculation which includes benefits and all pension contributions by taxpayers for each teacher, and reflects a full year of work instead of the nine months teachers actually worked.
Records show that in 2015, John J. Franklin, a teacher at Kipp Ascend Elementary Charter School at 42 W. Madison St. Second Flr, received $116,603, the highest full adjusted pay among all teachers in the district.
Included in that amount was $26,103 in taxpayer-funded benefits.
Overall, the total amount City of Chicago SD 299 spent on its 50 highest-paid teachers in 2015 was $4,551,228.23.
