The Cook County Republican Party has named real estate broker Muzammil "Matt" Kader Lashkariya its new 50th Ward Republican committeeman, the party announced recently, although the appointment is already in effect.
“I am very pleased to announce the appointment of Matt Lashkariya to the post of Republican committeeman for the 50th Ward,” Sean Morrison, chairman of the Cook County GOP, said. “Matt is a lifelong resident of the north side of Chicago and will bring a fresh voice to the Republican Party.”
Lashkariya has deep roots in the area, growing up in Chicago and attending Loyola University, where he studied in the Quinlan School of Business. He earned his bachelor's degree in finance and graduated cum laude before beginning his career as a real estate broker. Lashkariya also performs financial analyses of investment properties.
Lashkariya also has a lengthy connection to politics and is embracing his new committeeman position, the GOP said.
"I have been a lifelong resident of Chicago’s north side, having originally developed an interest in the political process during my adolescent years," Lashkariya said. "I look forward to strengthening the Republican Party presence on the north side of Chicago."
