Here is the minutes provided by the Board:

Call To Order:

President Donnelly called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m.

Roll Call:

President Donnelly asked for a roll call.

Members Present: Wilson, Anderson, Stephens, Houston, Muszynski, Vice President Bailey, and President Donnelly

Members Absent: None

Others In Attendance: Superintendent Anderson

Laurie Kovalcik, Staff

Anne Lunde, Journal & Topics Reporter

Brittany Muszynski, Resident & Staff

Recognition Of Visitors:

At this time President Donnelly welcomed the visitors and asked if there were any questions. There were no questions at this time.

Executive Session:

There was no Executive Session.

Additions To The Agenda:

There were no Additions to the Agenda.

Consent Agenda Items:

There was a motion made by Member Stephens, seconded by Member Anderson, to approve consent agenda items 5.1 thru 5.2

A roll call vote

Ayes: Wilson, Anderson, Stephens, Houston, Muszynski, Vice President Bailey, and President Donnelly

Nays: None

The Consent Agenda Items were as follows:

5.1 Approval of Minutes from the Regular Board Meeting held on November 13, 2017.

Administrator’s Update:

Calendar of Events

Superintendent Anderson reported the following is the upcoming Calendar of Events:

December 12th Science/Social Studies Fair – 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.

December 14th Kindergarten/Band/Winter Program – 2 & 7 p.m.

December 20th Concert Band to the Senior Center

December 22nd 2 p.m. Dismissal – Start of Winter Break

December 25th - Winter Break January 8th

January 8th Institute Day – No Student Attendance

January 9th First Day Back After Winter Break

Superintendent Anderson added that we received the water testing report back. The testing must be done in buildings built before 2000, and all fountains and faucets must be tested. The only area that tested above the allowable range, at 5 parts per million, was the faucet in the bathroom in the Kindergarten classroom (room 105). The sink has been labeled as not for drinking. The report will be posted on the school website, and parents of children in this Kindergarten class will be notified by mail.

Correspondence/Committee Reports:

There was a thank you note from Mrs. Mary Houston thanking the Board for giving her the opportunity to attend the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics Regional Conference in Chicago.

Special Education Report:

At this time there was no Special Education Report.

Legislation Report:

At this time there was no Legislation Report.

Voters’ League Assignment:

President Donnelly stated that there would be no Voters’ League Meeting in the month of December.

Other Board Reports:

There were no Other Board Reports at this time.

There were no Board Calendar items at this time.

Financial Report:

There was a motion made by Member Stephens, seconded by Member Anderson, to approve the List of Disbursements for the month of November 2017 (reviewed by Member Muszynski)

Resolution for District 80

The Resolution for District 80 to withdraw from the Leyden Area Special Education Cooperative was not approved by the Board with a vote of 7 Nays and 0 Ayes.

2017 Tax Levy

There was a motion made by Member Stephens, seconded by Member Anderson, to approve the 2017 Tax Levy as follows:

Education Fund 4,129,917

Operations & Maint. Fund 1,446,050

IMRF Fund 45,117

Working Cash 163,114

Total All Funds 5,784,198

Questions From The Public:

President Donnelly asked if there were any Questions from the Public. There were no questions. Mrs. Kovalcik did inform the Board that the artwork behind them was a random act of kindness made by the first grade for the Board of Education.
