Graduates earn 7,478 degrees, certificates from University of Illinois at Chicago

About 23.4 percent of the 7,478 degrees and certificates handed out by the University of Illinois at Chicago in 2016-17 were to students in Health Professions and Related Programs programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the public institution in Chicago conferred 755 doctor's degrees and 617 master's degrees in Health Professions and Related Programs programs.

But the single most popular program was for a bachelor's degree in Psychology, General. Data shows the school gave out 498 bachelor's degrees in Psychology, General, followed by 421 bachelor's degrees in Biology/Biological Sciences, General and 302 doctor's degrees in Medicine.

The university enrolled 29,120 students for 2016-17, including 17,959 in undergraduate programs and 11,161 in graduate programs.
