Graduates earn 55 degrees from American Academy of Art

About 96.4 percent of the 55 degrees and certificates handed out by the American Academy of Art in 2016-17 were to students in Visual and Performing Arts programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the private not-for-profit institution in Chicago conferred 53 bachelor's degrees in Visual and Performing Arts programs.

But the single most popular program was for a bachelor's degree in Illustration. Data shows the school gave out 25 bachelor's degrees in Illustration, followed by 16 bachelor's degrees in Painting and 7 bachelor's degrees in Graphic Design.

The academy enrolled 297 students for 2016-17, all of whom were enrolled in undergraduate programs.
