IL State Chamber of Commerce issued the following announcement on June 5.
“We applaud the vital support of the Chicago Region Environment and Transportation Efficiency (CREATE) Program and Illinois’ transportation and infrastructure system as a whole, which is crucial to our state’s economy. The federal award from the U.S. Department of Transportation that grants $132 million to the 75th St. Corridor Improvement Project recognizes the importance of the Chicago region and Illinois to our
nation’s economy.
This is one of the strongest examples of how Illinois can use its location and our nation’s infrastructure system to our advantage. By working together to form successful publicprivate partnerships, as in this case, valued opportunities prevail and Illinois’ economy is better served.
We thank our congressional delegation for their bipartisan support of this project that made this award possible.”
