ADVOCATE TRINITY HOSPITAL: Here’s why more than 30 million Americans should be looking at their feet

Advocate Trinity Hospital issued the following announcement on Dec. 13.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, more than 30 million Americans live with diabetes and 60 to 70 percent of these individuals experience diabetic neuropathy, or nerve damage, that can affect their feet. This can lead to foot ulcers and ultimately, amputation if not treated properly.

Here are a few tips to help prevent such ulcers.
