Forest Glen home prices fall in 2017

The median sale price of a home sold in 2017 in Forest Glen, a Chicago neighborhood, fell by $93,000 while total sales decreased by 18.2%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From January through December of 2017, there were 45 homes sold, with a median sale price of $172,000 - a 35.1% decrease over the $265,000 median sale price for the previous year. There were 55 homes sold in Forest Glen in 2016.

The median sales tax in Forest Glen for 2017 was $3,540. In 2016, the median sales tax was $3,422. This marks an increase of 3.4%. The effective property tax rate, using the median property tax and median home sale price as the basis, is 2.1%.
