Englewood home prices rise in 2017

The median sale price of a home sold in 2017 in Englewood, a Chicago neighborhood, rose by $3,000 while total sales increased by 26.5%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From January through December of 2017, there were 434 homes sold, with a median sale price of $28,000 - a 12% increase over the $25,000 median sale price for the previous year. There were 343 homes sold in Englewood in 2016.

The median sales tax in Englewood for 2017 was $1,948. In 2016, the median sales tax was $1,839. This marks an increase of 5.9%. The effective property tax rate, using the median property tax and median home sale price as the basis, is 7%.
