South Chicago home prices rise in January 2017

The median sale price of a home sold in January 2017 in South Chicago, a Chicago neighborhood, rose by $27,000 while total sales decreased by 4.5%, according to BlockShopper.com.

In January 2017, there were 21 homes sold, with a median sale price of $89,000 - a 43.5% increase over the $62,000 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were 22 homes sold in South Chicago in January 2016.

The median sales tax in South Chicago for 2017 was $2,258. In 2016, the median sales tax was $2,204. This marks an increase of 2.4%. The effective property tax rate, using the median property tax and median home sale price as the basis, is 2.5%.
