Former state university employee Bosnyak paid in $2K to pension fund, could collect $78K in retirement

Former state university employee Clive Bosnyak, who retired in February 2017, saved $2,099 toward a pension over 8 years working for state universities, State Universities Retirement System of Illinois records show.

Over 30 years of retirement, Bosnyak would collect as much as $78,037, according to a projection by Local Government Information Services (LGIS), which publishes Chicago City Wire.

The projection assumes Bosnyak received $1,640 in the first year of retirement, then 3 percent annual increases thereafter, compounded.

After 2 years of retirement, Bosnyak will have already received $3,329 in retirement benefits, or more than the sum total of the retiree's contributions to the state pension fund.
