Former state university employee Zweiniger Bargielowska paid in $91K to pension fund, could collect $1.18M in retirement

Former state university employee Ina Zweiniger Bargielowska, who retired in September 2016, saved $90,698 toward a pension over 17 years working for state universities, State Universities Retirement System of Illinois records show.

Over 30 years of retirement, Zweiniger Bargielowska would collect as much as $1.18 million, according to a projection by Local Government Information Services (LGIS), which publishes Chicago City Wire.

The projection assumes Zweiniger Bargielowska received $24,744 in the first year of retirement, then 3 percent annual increases thereafter, compounded.

After 4 years of retirement, Zweiniger Bargielowska will have already received $103,520 in retirement benefits, or more than the sum total of the retiree's contributions to the state pension fund.
