Village of Cherry Valley Recreation Board met June 26.

Here is the minutes provided by the board:

Chairman Scott Kramer called the meeting to order at 7:18 PM. A Roll Call was taken by Deputy Clerk, Heather Riley:

Others Present: Village President Jim E. Claeyssen, Trustee David Schroeder, Sergeant Pearse, Officer Fulton and Deputy Clerk Heather Riley

ADOPT THE AGENDA: Scott Kramer moved to adopt the agenda. Dina Wedig seconded.

Motion carried by voice vote.

APPROVE THE MINUTES: Scott Kramer moved to approve the minutes from the April 3, 2019 meeting. Dina Brandt seconded. Motion carried by voice vote.

EX-OFFICIO’S REPORT: David Schroeder. Mosquito spraying will begin tonight weather pending.

PUBLIC COMMENT: None.

UNFINISHED BUSINESS:

1. National Night Out (August 6, 2019) – Pepsi donated signs for Nation Night Out for advertisement. Jill will be ordering the shirts for the kick ball game, 25 orange and 25 blue at a cost of $5.00 apiece. Sparky Prisby will MC for the kickball game.

2. 4th of July Parade – Scott Kramer has completed the lineup. Dina Brandt will have seven buckets of candy for the Village Trustees and Village President to pass out. Lineup will begin at 12:30 PM.

3. Movie Night (June 15, 2019) – Movie night was cancelled due to the projector breaking down. Six people showed up for the event. After the projector is replaced the movie night will be held rain or shine. If it rains the movie will be held in the Village Granary.

4. Garden Walk (June 23, 2019) – Garden walk had a good turnout. Jill Wedig stated that home owners had estimated roughly 150 people per yard. The wrap up meeting for the garden walk committee will be on July 2, 2019 at 6:15 PM to discuss issues and concerns.

5. Street Dance (July 27, 2019) – Jill Wedig will buy the fire pit from Menard’s as the second large item prize. Dina will run the games for the kids during the band’s intermission. Scott Kramer stated per the band’s contract the committee

has to provide bottled water for the band members. Cattle & Cream’s opening day is now set for August so instead of the committee getting a gift card from their they will instead get three $10.00 lottery scratch off tickets from the Shell Gas Station. Dina Brandt stated that she will only need $250.00 in cash from the Street Dance money, everyone else can be reimbursed via check when they turn in their receipts.

6. Citizen of the Year (June 18, 2019) – Judy Prisby will bring in her report and expense sheet at the July recreation meeting. Judy stated that she purchased Citizen of the Year winner Lori Kuhn a $100.00 gift certificate to Hobby Lobby since Lori Kuhn enjoys crafting along with the stone that was made for her by Sue Claeyssen.

NEW BUSINESS:

1. July 31st Meeting – Reminder that there will be no Recreation Board meeting on July 3, 2019 due to the holiday. The July meeting will be on July 31, 2019 to make any last-minute preparations for National Night Out.

2. Newsletter Updates – Dina Brandt will have the newsletter updates to Village Clerk Kathy Trimble no later than the July 31st meeting.

ADJOURNMENT: Scott Kramer entertained a motion to adjourn at 8:05 PM. Jill Wedig seconded. Motion carried by voice vote.
