The Chicago Reader played host to a Democratic presidential debate watch party on Oct. 15 that was attended by party candidate Marianne Williamson.
The local airing of the Human Rights Campaign/CNN debate in Westerville, Ohio was held at the Sidetrack Bar in Lakeview, where leaders of the LGBTQ community were also heavily in attendance. The live-session portion of the evening was hosted by the Reader’s Ben Joravsky and Maya Dukmasova and featured 70 minutes of live interaction with attendees.
Special guests included Chicago Ald. Maria Hadden, Julio Rodriguez from the Association of Latinos/as Motivating Action, Imani Rupert-Gordon from Affinity Community Services, Mike Ziri from Equality Illinois, and Steph Skora from Brave Space Alliance.

While Williamson failed to qualify for one of the 12 on-stage debate spots in Ohio, she has vowed that her campaign will continue.
