City of Wheaton Truth in Taxation Committee met Nov. 4.

Here is the agenda provided by the committee:

I. A public hearing to approve a proposed property tax levy increase for the City of Wheaton Special Service Area Number Eight for 2019 (payable in 2020) will be held on Monday, November 4, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. at the City of Wheaton City Hall, 303 West Wesley Street, Wheaton, IL 60187.

Any person desiring to appear at the public hearing and present testimony to the taxing district may contact Sharon Barrett-Hagen, City Clerk, City of Wheaton, 303 West Wesley Street, Wheaton, IL 60187, (630) 260- 2012.

II. The Special Service Area Number Eight property taxes extended or abated for 2018 (payable in 2019) were $127,892.91.

The proposed Special Service Area Number Eight property taxes to be levied for 2019 (payable in 2020) are $225,000.00. This represents a 75.93% increase over the previous year.

III. The Special Service Area Number Eight property taxes extended for debt service and public building commission leases for 2018 (payable in 2019) were $0.00.

The estimated Special Service Area Number Eight property taxes to be levied for debt service and public building commission leases for 2019 (payable in 2020) are $0.00. This represents a 0.00% increase over the previous year.

IV. The total Special Service Area Number Eight property taxes extended or abated for 2018 (payable in 2019) were $127,892.91.

The estimated total Special Service Area Number Eight property taxes to be levied for 2019 (payable in 2020) are $225,000.00. This represents a 75.93% increase over the previous year.
