City of Wheaton Board of Fire & Police Commissioners met Sept. 18.

I. Call to Order
At 5:34 p.m., the regular meeting of the Board of Fire and Police Commissioners was called to order by Chairman Cannova. The meeting was held in the Gamon Room at Wheaton City Hall, 303 W. Wesley St., Wheaton, Illinois. Upon roll call, the following were present: Chair Cannova, Commissioner Dulaney, Commissioner Haines, and Commissioner Illia. Secretary Wanzenberg was absent. Also present was Director of HR Schulz, Police Chief Murphy and Deputy Police Chief Youker.
II. Public Comment
None
III. Approval of Minutes Commissioner Dulaney moved and Commissioner Haines seconded to approve the minutes of the August 27, 2019 and August 28, 2019 regular meetings. The motion carried unanimously.

V. New Business
Commissioners discussed the Police Officer hiring process, including streamlining background reports, internship preference point possibilities, and lateral entry options.
VI. Miscellaneous
Police Officer interviews will be held the week of November 18th. Orientation and testing for Police Officer applicants will be on Sunday, October 27, 2019 at Wheaton North High School. Interviews for applicants from the new interim eligibility list will be on December 16th and 17th.
VII. Adjournment
Commissioner Haines moved and Commissioner Dulaney seconded to adjourn the regular meeting at 7:20 p.m. The motion carried unanimously.
