The data shows that 29 men and five women were released in Chicago zip code. The median age of the parolees was 36. The youngest parolee was a 21-year-old man convicted of a crime involving drugs in 2018, and the oldest was a 52-year-old man convicted of a crime involving drugs in 2013.
The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Juan Gonzalez. He was convicted of homicide in 1995, when he was 28 years old. He is now 53.
Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.
