Cost of college went up for all students at the Steven Papageorge Hair Academy

Tuition and fees rose 15 percent for 2018-19 at the Steven Papageorge Hair Academy, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

Illinois students paid $17,250 to attend the private for-profit school this year – $2,250 more than the $15,000 charged for 2017-18.

Data shows 80 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 8 students received grants or scholarships totaling $43,038 and 5 students took out student loans totaling more than $28,945.

Including all undergraduates (53), 46 students used grants or scholarships totaling $303,595, and 34 students took out $189,659 in federal student loans.
