Cost of college went up for all students at the SAE Institute of Technology-Chicago

Tuition and fees rose 6.6 percent for 2018-19 at the SAE Institute of Technology-Chicago, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

Illinois students paid $34,099 to attend the two-year private for-profit institution this year – $2,099 more than the $32,000 charged for 2017-18.

Data shows 92 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 82 students received grants or scholarships totaling $488,019 and 94 students took out student loans totaling more than $848,694.

Including all undergraduates (359), 241 students used grants or scholarships totaling $2 million, and 276 students took out $3.3 million in federal student loans.
