Cost of college went up for all students at American Academy of Art

Tuition and fees rose 3.2 percent for 2018-19 at American Academy of Art, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

Illinois students paid $34,270 to attend the four-year private not-for-profit institution this year – $1,050 more than the $33,220 charged for 2017-18.

Data shows 98 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 32 students received grants or scholarships totaling $374,741 and 36 students took out student loans totaling more than $276,579.

Including all undergraduates (242), 181 students used grants or scholarships totaling $1.3 million, and 223 students took out $1.7 million in federal student loans.
