City of Wheaton Housing Commission met Sept. 10.

Here is the minutes provided by the commission:

In accordance with Governor Pritzker’s Executive Order, the regular meeting was held via Zoom with the public allowed to attend the meeting virtually.

I. Call to Order

The regular meeting of the Wheaton Housing Commission was held via Zoom Meeting due to Governor Pritzker’s Executive Order. Housing Commissioner Chair, Kristine Eisenmann, called the meeting to order at 7:03 pm on Thursday, September 10, 2020.

II. Public Comment A. None

III. Approval of Minutes

Commissioner Johnson moved, and Commissioner Rybinski seconded, a motion to accept the minutes of the August 13th, 2020 meeting. The motion was unanimously approved by a voice vote.

IV. Correspondence

2020 Housing Assistance Summary

Group was advised that an applicant had been removed from the program due to their income being over the limit. The resident would be notified via mail.

V. Old Business

a) Review and Finalize Interview Questions

i) Group reviewed and decided on changes to be made to the questioner. Chairman Eisenmann will call the Wheaton Fire Department to see how they are handling the free smoke detector service during COVID.

ii) Interview questioners will be mailed so that phone screenings can be conducted as in-house interviews have been suspended.

VI. New Business

b) Fill Secretary Vacancy

i) No one has volunteered, Chairman Eisenmann will continue to take notes during each meeting

c) Marketing of Housing Program

i) Marketing of the program is included on the website, a press release and notification was included in the Wheaton weekly. There have been many citizens inquiring about the program.

The meeting was adjourned at 7:21 pm
