Village of Cherry Valley Recreation Board met Sept. 2.

Here is the minutes provided by the board:

Chairman Scott Kramer called the meeting to order at 7:03 PM. A Roll Call was taken by Deputy Clerk, Heather Riley:

Others Present: Village President Jim E. Claeyssen and Deputy Clerk Heather Riley

ADOPT THE AGENDA: Scott Kramer moved to adopt the agenda. Jill Wedig seconded.

Motion carried by voice vote.

APPROVE THE MINUTES: Scott Kramer moved to approve the minutes from the July 29, 2020 meeting. Dina Brandt seconded. Motion carried by voice vote.

EX-OFFICIO’S REPORT: David Schroeder. None.

PUBLIC COMMENT: None.

UNFINISHED BUSINESS:

1. Street Dance – Due to COVID-19 the Recreation board has decided to cancel the street dance for this year. Scott Kramer will reach out to Kerry from Prime Time Live to see if they are available on July 24, 2021 for next years street dance. The committee would like to make next year’s bigger and better than past events.

NEW BUSINESS:

1. Fall Fishing – Fall Fishing will be Saturday September 19, 2020 from 10:00 AM –12:00 PM. All participants receive a prize. Committee members will hang up the fliers for the event at local businesses around town.

2. Halloween Parade – The next Recreation meeting will be held at the Public Works building to discuss the potential of having a “Haunted drive-boo” a drive through haunted house utilizing the Public Works garage and handing out pre packaged candy to each child that comes to the event. The committee plans on spending $750.00 on candy and the remaining amount on decorations. To keep the event more contained there will not be any fliers put out for this event, only a post made on the Recreation Boards Facebook page a week before the event. Scott Kramer moved to request up to $1,000.00 for the Halloween event. Dina Brandt seconded. Motion carried by voice vote.

3. Village Sponsored Scarecrow for the “Scarecrow on Parade” Event - The Recreation Committee has decided to reuse some props from past years and put out all of the event signs to advertise the different activities that the Recreation Committee puts on throughout the year.

ADJOURNMENT: Scott Kramer entertained a motion to adjourn at 7:45 PM. Judy Prisby seconded. Motion carried by voice vote.
