Health officials are saying that Chicago could enter the next stage of its vaccine rollout this month, but as for the whole state of Illinois there are no details yet.

Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker spoke with reporters last Friday and told them that there is no concrete date yet for distributing vaccines throughout the whole state of Illinois. He said, “I don’t have a date for you yet again because we’re trying to get through ... millions of people still in 1B Plus, 1B and 1A that have not been vaccinated.”

Pritzker said that before officials start moving the whole state to the next phase they want to vaccinate more than 50 percent of each category first.

As for Chicago, the Windy City is on track to enter Phase 1C by the end of March, according to its top doctor. Dr. Allison Arwady, commissioner of the Chicago Department of Public Health, said that there is an increase of COVID-19 vaccine doses in the state which means that they might be able to move onto the next phase earlier than expected if they administer those doses as quickly as possible.
