Village of Cherry Valley Recreation Board Met Jan. 6.

Jill Wedig called the meeting to order at 7:06 PM. A Roll Call was taken by Deputy Clerk, Heather Riley:

ADOPT THE AGENDA: Jill Wedig moved to adopt the agenda. Dan Jarocki seconded. Motion carried by voice vote.

APPROVE THE MINUTES: Jill Wedig moved to approve the minutes from December 16, 2020 meeting with one correction under Unfinished Business item number 1. Santa – There were 5 bags left over from the Santa Parade. Judy Prisby seconded. Motion carried by voice vote.

EX-OFFICIO’S REPORT: No report.

PUBLIC COMMENT: None.

UNFINISHED BUSINESS:

NEW BUSINESS:

1. Bounce Night – The committee agreed that with current COIVD-19 restrictions to cancel the Bounce Night event. Village President Claeyssen stated that the Gymnastics Academy is currently only open for team practices and not open to the public.

2. Adult Fun Bowl – The committee agreed that with current COIVD-19 restrictions to cancel the Adult Fun Bowl event.

3. Skate Night – Jill Wedig has been in touch with the Belvidere Outdoor Skate Rink in regards to hosting the Cherry Valley Skate Night there. Jill stated that her contact has informed her that there are no January openings and that he would try and find something for the end of February. Currently this is the only skate rink open in this area and all of the hockey teams in the northern region have been booking all of the available openings for scrimmage practices. Village President Claeyssen told Jill to pass along the information to Heather Riley and Kathy Trimble to complete the rental process. There would be a limit of 100 skaters and a mask or scarf is required per there COVID-19 guidelines, rental cost would be around $200.00. Jill Wedig moved to request $300.00 from line item 5260 Buildings and Grounds to rent the Belvidere Outdoor Ice-Skating Rink for Cherry Valley’s Skate Night. Dan Jarocki seconded. Motion carried by voice vote.

4. Street Dance – Village President Claeyssen stated that he has the signed contract back from Kerry Schaible of Prime Time Live for the 2021 Street Dance which will be held July 24, 2021 from 6:30 – 10:30 PM in downtown Cherry Valley.

ADJOURNMENT: Dina Brandt entertained a motion to adjourn at 7:19 PM. Judy Prisby seconded. Motion carried by voice vote.
