EX-OFFICIO’S REPORT: No Report.

UNFINISHED BUSINESS:

1. Easter Candy Scramble (April 16, 2022) – See report attached.

2. Fun Run/Walk at Baumann Park (May 21, 2022) – Tori Schroeder reported that 29 people have signed up for the run/walk so far. 48 shirts have been ordered, everyone that attends will receive a t-shirt since the recreation board budgeted $500.00 for this event and it would be easier for bookkeeping if we just gave the shirts away instead of having to keep track of money collected since that would be considered income for the Village. Set up will begin at 8:00 AM at the Gazebo.

3. Cruise & Cream – Jill spoke with Cattle & Cream about holding the event in June and they were not thrilled with that timeline as they are already busy that month, the committee has decided to table this event until the Fall and try to schedule the event with Cattle & Cream at that time.

4. 4th of July Parade - Jill Wedig reported that the Corvette Club has reached out wanting to participate this year as well as Beef-a-Roo. Jill Wedig will find out more of what Beef-a-Roo is wanting to do and will report back at the next meeting. Discussion was had previously about changing the parade start time, however, the committee has decided to keep the parade at 1:00 PM.

5. National Night Out – National Night Out will take place on August 2, 2022 at the Baumann Park. Kickball team shirt colors this year will be safety orange and safety green. Jill is able to get shirts at a cost of $5.00 per shirt.

6. Art on Fire – Sergeant Pearse stated that the post on Facebook advertising for Art on Fire will start later in May and registration for Art on Fire will go live on Wednesday June 1, 2022.

NEW BUSINESS:

1. Youth Spring Fishing – This event has been cancelled for Spring and will be rescheduled for Fall. This event was cancelled on Facebook noting to keep an eye out for a date this Fall.

2. Street Dace Discussion: Raffle Prizes – Discussion was had about getting the Street Dance prizes early this year so that there are more items to choose from before the summer gets here. The committee suggested getting a smoker and a pair of zero gravity chairs. Jill Wedig moved to request up to $2,000.00 for the Street Dance on July 16, 2022. Tori Schroeder seconded. All “Aye;” None opposed. Motion carried by voice vote. Jill Wedig will go to Menards and see what they have available in regards to smokers and the chairs and if they have them, she will purchase them and bring them to Village Hall till the Street Dance.

3. Pickle Ball – Jill Wedig said she would like to see a new event added, a pickle ball tournament. Jill Wedig will reach out to Scott Kramer and see if he will come to the next meeting in June to discuss what it would entail to hold a pickle ball tournament. This item will be discussed at the June 1, 2022 meeting.

4. Citizen of the Year – The Recreation Committee reviewed the three (3) Citizen of the Year nomination letters and submitted their recommendation to the Village Board. There was a total of five (5) letters but two (2) of the letters were for a currently Village employed resident, making them ineligible for the recognition.

ADJOURNMENT: Jill Wedig moved to adjourn the meeting at 7:49 PM. Tori Schroeder seconded. All “Aye;” None opposed. Motion carried by voice vote.
