About the Crime:
This alert gives notice to commercial establishments in the 001st District of two recently reported burglary incidents occurring during the early morning hours in the month of August. In both incidents, the offender forcefully entered into the business by breaking a front/side glass window before taking property from within the business
Incident times and locations:
• 500 block of S. Wells St on August 19-22, 2022, from 6:00 pm - 9:00 am.
• 600 block of S. Clark St on August 20, 2022 at 5:55 am
About the Offender:
In one of the incidents, the offender is described as a Caucasian Male, 35-40 years old, 5'11-6'02 height, 175-200 lbs, wearing a t-shirt and dark shorts. Offender was observed to be riding a bicycle.
What you can do:
• Be aware of this crime and alert nearby businesses.
• Pay special attention to any suspicious persons loitering in the area.
• Have and maintain a working surveillance system.
• If video surveillance is available, save and make a copy of the incident for investigating Detectives.
• If you are a victim, try not touch anything and contact the police immediately.
• Keep a record of property serial numbers.
• Call 911 immediately and provide a detailed description of any suspicious people including any vehicle description and license plate information.
