About the Crime:
This alert gives notice to businesses in the 014th and 025th district of recent Motor Vehicle Thefts. In these incidents the offenders arrived at the auto repair shops and targeted vehicles in the repair shop for theft. The offenders entered the repair shop and identified a vehicle with keys, which the offenders took and fled the scene.
Incident times and locations:
• 6700 block of West Grand Ave. on September 22 at 12:30pm.
• 3500 block of North Milwaukee on September 23 at 3:20pm.
• 3200 block of West Irving Park Rd. on September 23 at 4:38pm.
• 3400 block of North Milwaukee Ave. on September 23 at 5pm.

What you can do:
• Never leave a vehicle running while unattended.
• Never leave the vehicle keys in an unattended vehicle.
• Be aware of this crime and alert your neighbors.
• Pay special attention to any suspicious subjects loitering in the area.
• Ensure that existing surveillance cameras are functional.
• Call 911 immediately and provide a detailed description of the offender(s) including any vehicle description and license plate information.
