City of Wheaton Fine & Cultural Arts Commission met Aug. 2.
Here are the minutes provided by the commission:
I. Call to Order
President Mike Bock called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m.
Those present: Mike Bock, Dee Hicks, Sarah Antas, and Laurie Oberhelman. Dave Duve and Randy King were absent.
II. Approval of agenda
Mike Bock moved and Sarah Antas seconded the approval of the agenda.. Motion approved by unanimous voice vote.
III. Public Comments

IV. Approval of Minutes
V. Sarah Antas moved and Mike Bock seconded the approval of the minutes of July 26. Motion approved by unanimous voice vote.
VI. New Business
The minutes of April 26: These minutes had to be re-created from past notes, agenda and memories. Mike will write and send them to Andrea.
VII. Old Business
International Music Day : Scheduled for October 1 at the band shell. We have Park District confirmation of availability of venue and will start contacting choirs. Randy and Laurie will be responsible for signing up buskers. David will contact high schools regarding choral participation. Dee will check “Sounds Good Choir”. All choirs are required to sing “It’s a Small World, Isn’t it?” We will rent risers which will be completely handled by outside source.
Mike Bock moved and Sarah Antas seconded that we allow up to $1250 for riser rental. Motion approved by unanimous voice vote. Mike Bock moved and Sarah Antas seconded that we provide up to $200 per choir to cover expenses to support International Music Day in Wheaton. Motion carried by unanimous voice vote.
Andy Worhol Display: Sarah Antas will be the Commission representative at The Chamber’s Art Business and Culture Committee meeting Tuesday August 9 at 4:00 at the Chamber office.
Dee Hicks moved and Sarah Antas seconded that we adjourn at 6:52. Motion approved by unanimous voice vote.
