Jeffrey Miller – Executive Director
Penny Merritt - C&S Companies, Project Manager
II. Residential Sound Insulation Program (RSIP) Update
A. Penny Merritt, Project Manager, offered the RSIP update:
If you need an application, please call or email Penny at 847-947-8392 or pmerritt@cscos.com.
III. Questions and Answers
Mary, Glenview Resident, questioned why it was a 65 decibels contour area, because their home should qualify due to the noise and air traffic directly above them. Jeff and Penny explained that the FAA are the ones setting the regulations and that 65 decibels is the minimum point for sound insulation. They will not allow sound insulation outside of that established contour.
The resident was concerned about cargo aircrafts flying out from PWK. Jeff stated that we are not able to handle large cargo aircrafts
Steve Neff, Wheeling Resident, asked when the program will be back up and running, and if the FAA was supportive of the project. Jeff and Penny assured the resident that the program is supported by the FAA. They are unsure of a timeline, but the airport has bi-weekly meetings with the FAA. The airport is working as fast as possible to return to the sound insulation program.
IV. Adjournment
Jeff thanked everyone who attended. The meeting was adjourned at 7:05 p.m.
