City of Wheaton Bicycle Advisory Commission met July 20.
Here are the minutes provided by the commission:

Zoom: Laurel Salvador, Bob Goldsborough
Absent: Alyse Kondrat , David Duve, Dan Neilson.
I. Call to Order
Observing that a quorum of the WBAC was present, the meeting was called to order by Michelle Dunlap at 7:00 pm
II. Agenda Item-Approval of May minutes
The motion to approve the May minutes was made by Bob Van Valzah and seconded by Bill Neiman. It was approved unanimously by voice vote
III. Public Comments - Dave Basner
Make Wheaton Ave. a designated bike route
Concerns about the automobile traffic around the new apartment building planned at Liberty Drive and Wheaton Ave.
Does the new building have designated bicycle parking?
IV. Agenda item-Guest Bob Goldsborough- History Ride Docent
We discussed the event featuring locations of “The Great Fires of Wheaton”.
We discussed the route. Details will be listed separately from the minutes.
Alyse will contact the police.
V. Agenda item-Bike Valet
● Michelle updated the group. We had 32 bikes. Most before noon. Next year we will shorten from 6:30-1:30. A longer lead time is required to have signs made to post on the Prairie Path trail.
● Notice of the service should be put on the running event sign up sheets in addition to car parking locations.
● Michelle will email Margie at the Parks Dept. about the time change and adding information to the registration form.
VI. Agenda item-Brian resignation
● Brian Bobigian has decided he doesn’t have the time commitment for the commission at this time
VII. Agenda Item-Seminary Proposal
● Michelle presented the proposal to put a lane designating stripe on Seminary
● The motion was proposed by Bill Neiman and seconded by Rita Nathanson. It was approved unanimously by voice vote.
● Alyse will email the City Council and John Duguay about the proposal.
● Michelle will present it to the city council on August 1st or 15th. WBAC members are encouraged to attend to support her.
VIII. Agenda Item-History Ride
● Bob Van will update the half page information advertising for the event.
● Michelle will update the waiver form to be included with the advertising.
● A dress rehearsal will be held at 4:00 pm on Thursday, September 8th. Police Officers Joe Dimas and Chrystal Miroballi should be included. Alyse will invite them
● Funding for the History Ride advertising will be determined at the August WBAC meeting.
● The advertising information should be made available at the following locations: The Wheaton Library, the featured churches, the old and new City Halls, and bicycling friendly businesses.
IX. Agenda Item - French Market
● We discussed having a presence along the Prairie Path Trail instead of having a stall at the French Market on August 20 at a time to be determined.
● The primary purpose is to advertise the WBAC History Ride.
● Alyse will ask Andrea Rosedale, the City Clerk, if the City needs to be notified and if a table is available.
X. Agenda Item-Group Rides
● George will lead the August 13th Group Ride to Herrick Lake.
XI. NEW BUSINESS AGENDA ITEM -Ride Illinois Bike Safety

● The members agree that the safety quiz should be referred to the Public Safety Department to be published with their online communications to the public.
