City of Wheaton Commission on Aging met Oct. 13.

Here are the minutes provided by the commission:

I. Call to Order:

The regular meeting of the Commission on Aging was held on Thursday, October 13, 2022. Kristine Eisenmann called the meeting to order at 7:05 pm.

II. Role Call:

Absent: Aryan Khan

IV. Correspondence:

2022 Housing Assistance Program Summary & 2023 Housing Assistance Program Summary

- The Commission reviewed the data presented from the City in regard to the program participants. There were 38 participants in the program for the 2022 year and there are currently 36 who have applied for the program for the coming year.

- None

VI. New Business:

Election of Commission on Aging Officers

- Commissioner Mennecke moved and Commissioner Stock seconded a motion to elect Kristine Eisenmann as Chairman of the Commission on Aging. The motion was unanimously approved by a voice vote.

- Commissioner Eisenmann moved and Commissioner Rybinski seconded a motion to elect Russ Stock as Secretary of the Commission on Aging. The motion was unanimously approved by a voice vote.

Approval of CY2022 Meeting Schedule & Approval of CY2023 Meeting Schedule

- Commissioner Rybinski moved and Commissioner Gilbertson seconded a motion to approve the CY2022 & CY2023 Meeting Schedules. The motion was unanimously approved by a voice vote.

CY2022 Annual Report – Focus on CY2023 purpose statements and objectives

- The Commission is in the process of formulating the purpose statements and objectives and will present to the City following the November meeting of the Commission on Aging.

Summary of CY2023 Housing Assistance Applications

- The Commission reviewed the data provided by the City in regard to the current applications for the program

CY2023 Assignments

- The Commission reviewed their assignments for the upcoming year and will resume with in-house visits if preferred.

Review/Approve Housing Commission homeowner/renter interview questions

- Commissioner Gilbertson moved and Commissioner Rybinski seconded a motion to approve the homeowner/renter interview questions. The motion was unanimously approved by a voice vote.

Review/Approve Housing Commission homeowner/renter informational handout

- Commissioner Johnson moved and Commissioner Rybinski seconded a motion to approve the homeowner/renter informational handout. The motion was unanimously approved by a voice vote.

VII. Adjournment

Commissioner Eisenmann adjourned the meeting at 7:48pm.
