About the Crime:
This alert gives notice to businesses residing in the 019th and 024th Districts of recently reported commercial burglaries. In each incident, offender(s) gain entry into businesses by throwing an object at the front glass door. Once inside the offender(s) gain access to cash registers and remove property. These incidents have occurred during the early morning hours in the general geographical locations listed below:
Incident times and locations:
- 3300 Block of North Western Ave., Friday November 18, 2022, during the early morning hours.
- 3500 Block of North Western Ave., Friday November 18, 2022, during the early morning hours.
- 4000 Block of North Western Ave., Friday November 18, 2022, during the early morning hours.
- 7000 Block of North Western Ave., Friday November 18, 2022, during the early morning hours.
- 7300 Block of North Western Ave., Friday November 18, 2022, during the early morning hours.
- 2400 Block of North Clark St., Friday November 18, 2022, during the early morning hours.
Description of Offender:
Two-Three, Male, African Americans, wearing: hooded sweatshirts, gloves & facemasks
What you can do:
- Keep the perimeter of your property well lit
- Report suspicious activity immediately
- Keep doors and windows secured
- Immediately repair any broken windows, doors or locks
- If video surveillance is available, save and make a copy of the incident for investigating detectives
- If you are a victim do not touch anything, call police immediately
