About the crime:

This alert gives notice to the businesses and residents of the 8th District (Chicago Lawn) of an increase in Burglary related incidents during the month of November. In these incidents, the unknown offender(s) force entry into a business and remove property from within.

Incident times and locations:

• 7100 block of W. 63rd Pl. on November 12 at approximately 3:21 p.m.
•  5800 block of W. 59th St. on November 20 at approximately 12:01 a.m.
•  5800 block of S. Harlem on November 20 at approximately 4 p.m.
•  6000 block of W. 63rd St. on November 26 at approximately 1:30 a.m.
•  7000 block of W. 63rd St. on November 26 at approximately 10:30 p.m.
•  5200 block of S. Natoma on November 28 at approximately 4 p.m.
•  6100 block of S. Narragansett on November 28 at approximately 3 p.m.
•  5600 block of S. Narragansett on November 30 at approximately 4 p.m.
•  5600 block of S. Narragansett on November 30 at approximately 4:30 p.m.

About the offender(s):

In one incident the offender is described as a Black male, 21-29 years old, 5’9”, 140-160 lbs.

What you can do:

• Keep the perimeter of your property well-lit.
•  Report suspicious activity immediately.
•  Keep doors and windows secured.
•  Immediately repair any broken windows, doors or locks.
•  If video surveillance is available, save a copy of the incident for detectives.
•  If you are a victim do not touch anything, call police immediately.
•  If approached by a witness to the incident, request contact information.
