About the crime:
This alert gives notice to the residents in the 11th District of recent related motor vehicle thefts in November. An unknown offender took Ford and Hyundai brand vehicles that were legally parked on the street, parking lot, and/or alley ways. Several victims reported seeing broken glass at the location were their vehicle was last seen.
Incident Dates and Locations:
- 1100 block of north Homan Ave. on November 21, 2022
- 3300 block of west Division St. on November 21, 2022
- 600 north block of Spaulding Ave. on November 22, 2022
- 600 north block of Christiana Ave. on November 24, 2022
- 600 north block of Sawyer Ave. on November 25, 2022
- 900 north block of Drake Ave. on November 25, 2022,
- Never leave your vehicle running and unoccupied
- Utilize an anti-theft device, as a deterrence (steering wheel lock, alarm with motion detector, etc.)
- Do not leave any visible valuables inside your car
- For residential parking, use of a locked garage or behind a fence is encouraged
- If you observe a vehicle being stolen, don't interfere, dial 9-1-1 immediately.
