About the Crime:
This alert gives notice to residents in the 012th District of recently reported robbery incidents occurring during the month of December. In each incident, two to three offenders approach lone, unsuspecting female victims on the street and, while using physical force, take possession of the victims' property.
Incident times and locations:
- 2200 block of W. Superior St on December 2, 2022 at 7:11 pm.
- 800 block of N. California Ave on December 2, 2022 at 7:18 pm.
- 1200 block of W. Race Ave on December 2, 2022 at 7:45 pm.
The offenders are described as 2-3 African American males, 18-21 years of age, wearing dark clothing and dark colored ski masks.
What you can do:
- Be aware of these crimes and alert family and friends who live or patronize the area.
- Be aware of your surroundings and free from distractions.
- If you are confronted by an assailant, remain calm.
- Pay attention to suspicious individuals or vehicles in the area.
- Remember any unique physical characteristics (scars, tattoos, acne, limps, etc).
- If approached by a witness to the incident, request contact information.
- Call 911 immediately and provide a detailed description of any suspicious people including any vehicle description and license plate information.
