About the Crime:
This alert gives notice to citizens in the 003rd District (Grand Crossing) of recent motor vehicle thefts that occurred on Beat 0331. In each of the incidents, the victim parked her vehicle on the street and when she returned the vehicle was missing. The stolen vehicles are various Kia and Hyundai models. Incident times and locations are listed below:

• 7000 block of south Merrill Ave. on December 7, 2022 between 5:00 A.M. and 10:15 A.M.
• 6700 block of south Clyde Ave. on December 8, 2022 at 5:00 P.M.
• 6700 block of south Clyde Ave. on December 8, 2022 at 11:30 P.M.
• 6700 block of south Merrill Ave. on December 9, 2022 at 5:50 A.M.
• 7000 block of south Chappel Ave. on December 10, 2022 at 7:00 A.M.
• 6700 block of south Jeffery Blvd. between December 8, 2002 at 8:00 A.M. and December 10, 2022 at 11:40 A.M.
• 7000 block of south Crandon Ave. between December 11, 2022 at 8:30 P.M. and December 12, 2022 at 5:00 A.M.
What you can do:
• Do not leave your keys in your vehicle or your vehicle running unattended.
• Install and activate anti-theft devices.
• Park in well-lit, heavily traveled areas.
• Report suspicious activity immediately.
• Keep your vehicle doors and windows secured.
• Be aware of these crimes and alert your neighbors.
• Call 911 immediately and provide a detailed description of the offender(s) including any vehicle description and license plate information.
