About the Crime:

This alert gives notice to citizens in the 003rd District (Grand Crossing) of recent motor vehicle thefts that occurred on Beat 0314. In each of the incidents, the victim parked her vehicle on the street and when she returned the vehicle was missing. The stolen vehicles are various Hyundai models. Incident times and locations are listed below:

Incident times and locations:

• 6400 block of south Kenwood Ave. between December 17, 2022 at 9:00 P.M. and December 18, 2022 at 6:30 P.M.
• 6400 block of south Kenwood Ave. on December 21, 2022 at 12:00 A.M.
• 6300 block of south Kenwood Ave. on December 22, 2022 at 7:30 A.M.
• 6400 block of south Ellis Ave. on December 24, 2022 at 5:00 P.M.

What you can do:

• Do not leave your keys in your vehicle or your vehicle running unattended.
• Install and activate anti-theft devices.
• Park in well-lit, heavily traveled areas.
• Report suspicious activity immediately.
• Keep your vehicle doors and windows secured.
• Be aware of these crimes and alert your neighbors.
• Call 911 immediately and provide a detailed description of the offender(s) including any vehicle description and license plate information.
